Grand Matriarch Teersa felt responsible for her, but besides Varl, all the other Nora seemed to value her as a warrior (like the Nora War Chief) or because of her capabilities, and later because the Grand Matriarchs named her "Annointed of the Great Mother", so basically most Nora don't really value her as a person. So yeah, sadly most of the Nora didn't really wanted her. Luckily she had Rost, or she would've been "the kid that wasn't accepted by her Village, that burned it down as an adult, to feel its warmth". which wasn't her goal, she wanted to win so she could ask about her origins and why was she raised as an outcast. I can't quite decide which game I prefer, so I'm interested to hear your thoughts.Ībout HZD: Well yeah, the whole point was that Aloy, being raised as an outcast, would clearly not feel at home with the Nora, because they never welcomed her, and she had to earn her place on the Proving. Zero Dawn has a better plot line and in my opinion, better characters. So, in summary: Forbidden West is more expansive and visually amazing. Otherwise, the story behind FW is considerably less compelling. So far, my favourite quest has been The Broken Sky because we really got an in-depth look at the Sky Clan. I'm a fan of the Tenakth (they are definitely the tribe with the most development), but the Utaru are just boring. As cool as the Forbidden West is, I don't feel the desire to do main quests as I did while playing ZD. It's an amazing games and superior to the original in terms of gameplay.īut Zero Dawn does have a few things that Forbidden West is lacking. Four new elements, dozens of new weapons, two more tribes, more characters, essentially everything that Guerrilla could have expanded on, they did. An entire host of new machines, and the old ones are improved. Every aspect of the open-world gameplay has been improved. The only thing I've ever disliked about it is that after the main quest A Seeker at the Gates, she becomes sort of alienated and I don't really feel the same connection anymore (although they patch this up by The Heart of the Nora)).
Even after playing games the likes of Spider-Man and Jedi: Fallen Order, the level of detail put into the game, the extraordinary design of the machines, the originality of the idea of Project Zero Dawn, The Faro Plague etc. I have been wondering, though, which of the games is better. I don't even need to say anything about the graphics. The lore and story is amazing and original, the world is huge and incredibly geographically diverse, and the graphics.

The Horizon series has and likely always will be my favourite game franchise. I'm now 60% through Forbidden West, and I think I've gotten a pretty clear impression of the game.
